Antique suit of armor Edo Shogun period w/ Kicho Certificate
This is a quality antique armor just finished in beautiful vermilion-red from Edo period (1600-1700s). Cuirass consists of Nimaido, 2 divided body guards constructed with the Iyozane iron plates. A traditional crest Izutsu (water well girder) is painted on chest. Zunari, or "human head-shaped" kabuto is one of the most popular helmet styles amongst the warlords of Japan's Sengoku Jidai (Warring States Period) to early Edo period. The helmet features a very remarkable wooden headerboard. Registered as Kicho paper "Important historical armor" by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. The original storage box, display stand, and all pieces shown in the catalogue come with.
